A month and a half after second round of the series and National Championships on Soriška planina downhill racing is back this Sunday, August 21st, at Kope, Slovenia.
Bike park Kope debuted on the downhill circuit last year with not one but two races, both part of Unior Downhill Cup while the first one even doubles as the final of Auner Austrian Gravity Series.
This time the race is once again part of the Austrian series.
MTB Koroška is the local organizer of the event in partnership with Bike park Kope.
The track
The track went through significant changes compared to last year’s races. With a 178 m vertical drop it will still not be long, but the top part is completely new and there are new jumps and even a new rock garden in the bottom part.

The standings
Soriška planina winner and National Champion Žak Gomilšček (Unior Sinter) is leading elite men standings after two rounds. Jan Cimperman (MTB Trbovlje/HCI) in second and Žak’s teammate Jure Žabjek is third. Jure will be making a return to racing this weekend after an injury.
Registration
Registration remains open here throughout Thursday.
